DUAL OS? uhoh.

It LOOKS amazing. I WANT it to BE amazing. But DUAL OS's means I will be thoroughly confused from one minute to the other. Unless you guys think I'm wrong.....?

They don't seem to work at the same time, and it looks like the tablet portion disconnects and is used as a screen instead. I think this is a novel idea for a device. Hopefully it works well.

So essentially it works like an onboard video port. Where if you have primary video connected to the onboard video port and later add an AGP to the system, the onboard becomes deactivated and the AGP becomes the primary, right?

It looks like when the screen is docked into the laptop portion it runs of components in the laptop and windows 7. When the screen is undocked it looks like it fastboots into a OS that looks like a mash up of Chrome OS and OSX. www.engadget.com/2010/01/05/lenovo-skylight-its-fi... Here you can see the Skylight OS which to me looks browser based which is honestly all you need on a tablet especially one with a dock that can run the hardcore programs.

I think I need to get one of these and muck around with it. Boot into Skylight natively, run Windows in a VirtualBox when connected.

Will there be any shared information between the two modes? If I'm browsing on it as a tablet, and I decide to dock it so that I can type out an email, will I have to boot into W7? Will I be able to just start typing?

@bshort - Good question! Will it be possible to dock it while maintaining "Web tablet" mode so you can just use the keyboard without loading Windows?

@scottfl - I'm worried about the ability to load new OSes onto this thing. I'm guessing the auto-OS-switch-on-dock feature would be hard to make function if you start to tinker with the innards. So, I guess what I'm saying is that we better hope that they build in a way to change either W7 or the stripped-down "Web tablet" OS without screwing the auto-switch feature.

I'm excited for more news!
