Droid Eris, Palm Pre Plus or HTC Incredible for Verizon
I have an old silver voyager and my contrat is over on april 25th. you can get the buy one get one free promotion right now for the eris and pre plus. The incredible is rumored to be coming out next week. I hate the droid because of the lip and i dont care about the nexus one. Can someone tell me which one to pick and why. keep in mind the build quality, software/OS and app store. Dont give any suggestions for other phones because im only picking from these.
Going to be kind of a complex answer. First, I would avoid Palm at this point. The phone is decent, but the company likely won't be around much more. This could lead to problems down the road.
So, that narrows it down to the Incredible and the Eris. The Eris is BOGO at the moment, but the free phone only applies to someone who is eligible for an upgrade or a new line. My wife had to activate a new line to get hers.
The Incredible is going to have much better hardware than the Eris. It's going to be faster, have a prettier screen, and have more gaming power overall. It will also be able to run more intensive applications like Google Earth. The Eris is much cheaper, and for normal applications, e-mail, and whatnot it works just fine.
I chose the Eris over the Droid much for the same reasons you did. It feels better in the hand, it runs all the apps I would need it too, and it was $29.99 and my wife got one too.
So, really, you can pay $200 for the latest and greatest Android phone, or you can pay $30 for 1-2 phones that are less than a year old and do most everything that the Incredible does.
