DROID email/SMS alert sound

We've all been cracking up at the "DROOOIIID!" sound around here at the office, so Dave pulled out the clip from show 61 for everyone's enjoyment. It's definitely not the quality of the original sound file or anything, but I'm sure someone will post that up when the phone goes on sale later this week. In the mean time:

For bonus Droid fun: someone REALLY needs to mix this into that Justice track Phantom (on Cross).

My kids love it too. Two yr old walks around with this plastic walkie talkie saying "Droooiid."

I do love the tone. It reminds all of my iFriends that I have a better device on a better network. But I do miss the versatility of BB profiles....

This is the sound I hear when someone sends me a message on Skype at work... so I don't miss the message when I'm... actually working.

... and now, to actually get a Droid.

Im gonna dig up a Nokia 1100 and make this the default ringtone. The Droid tone coming from something that small.... ahhh the potential ^,^.

When you buy this phone the DROID sound will even play automatically when someone rings your doorbell !

It's the default, but you can certainly change it.
I know I did... within the first 10 minutes :-)

I have to admit that the Metal Gear Solid ALERT is the best iPhone SMS tone EVER! Still startles me like every time =)

I love the MGS alert sound, but I've got a lot of gamer friends who use that. When one person gets a text, the alert will sound off and four or five people will check their cell phones at the same time. It's tough finding a unique ringtone when all my friends are as geeky as I am, haha.

I use the beginning of the fanfare music that played during the propaganda reels during Starship Troopers. It's so loud and authoritative, not to mention hilarious.

I enjoyed this for a long time too, But i find it too invasive now, like my SMS would go off and everyone in the room would look over. Im currently using Vesper's text alert sound from Casino Royale, found here: www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_bondgirls.php?m=b...

Its subtle, I always hear it, and everyone asks where I got it. I searched for ages, but now you can enjoy it. Its been on my last 3 mobiles. :)

Nice! We are joking about this sound effect in our office on Friday after hearing it on the GDGT podcast. Now I can't seem to think about the Motorola Droid without hearing this alert at the same time... Great unintentional branding!
