Drobo v2 vs. Drobo s

I am considering getting a Drobo for my iMac and plan on using the FW800 interface. Using this interface, is there a significant speed difference between the two?

While I haven't had any experience with the Drobo S, I would think that there would not be that much of a performance increase between the two in contrast to what you end up paying for it. The biggest reasons to consider the Drobo S are mainly the 5th drive space and eSATA capability. Otherwise if you are sticking with Firewire I just don't think it is worth it.

No speed difference if you are only using fw800. The Drobo S has an additional drive space which would allow for larger storage capacity. I have the Drobo S because I expect to move/upgrade to eSata.
