I get no sound in DTSHD or TrueHD, but can in other codecs if I use expanded. I use a Polk surround bar, so I have all 5 channels up front. I want speakers 6&7 to give me some rear surround.

Where have you plugged in your speakers? Did you plug them into L/R Rear or L/R Surrond? I know you are getting sound in some codecs and not others but try switching them from one to the other and see what happens. Also check which 7.1 setting you have turned on. There is a 7.1 option for 5 speakers in the front. That also might help.
