Does anyone have a recommendation on a good set of earbuds w/ inline mic that don't cost a fortune.
Had some Apple ones and wasn't blown away but need something I can use on phone (Nexus One) iPod touch and laptop for Skype/GMail phone/chat conversations.
The design of those is definitely really nice. Now I'm looking into them but I'm one of the people who just prefers earbuds for everyday use instead of in-ear ones.
Also, now I'm going through and adding them to the database so that we can get some proper linkage up in here.

Oh, I understand your situation. A while back, I refused to use any in-ear buds due to discomfort but I made the change in favor of better audio quality and ambient noise cancellation.
With typical earbuds, your selection is much more limited as most higher end earbuds seem to be of the in-ear variety (in my experience).
I believe your best bet is to get an adapter (cable) or if you're good with the sort of thing, solder the Apple module onto nicer earbuds (it has been done). Good luck!

Well yesterday I ordered a pair of Zagg SmartBuds with mic because I had a 20% off coupon code and they were already really reasonably priced. I like that the cords are coated in the invisibleShield material they are famous for so that they don't tangle. They also have a longer than normal cord and have 3 beads that you can usx to configure them so that they can be around your neck vs having to store them.
I will write up a full review after about a week of use so keep an eye out.

So I've had these for a couple weeks now and have been using them pretty heavily. I noticed when I remembered to add them to my Have list that another gdgt user had written a review (linked here: dentedreality.com.au/2011/03/zagg-smartbuds-earbud...).
I read that and honestly, my feedback is 99% the same. I am using the soft rubber non-foam buds, but I am actually going to switch them back to the default foam ones that were on when I received because they have been falling out during light yard work.
The one thing I do LOVE about these is the 'over the neck' style of wear. It gets the cord out of the way and allows me to wear them while doing activities that normal buds wouldn't because the cord would end up getting in the way.
I wouldn't say that the sound quality is GREAT as this reviewer did, but it is good and I've had much worse.

I have been pretty impressed with the functionality of the Motorola EH20 www.amazon.com/Motorola-EH20-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00... ~$20, I think I paid $18 at Fry's. Audio snobs might have complaints, but I have excellent hearing, love music, and find them great for the price.
