Do you think I should wait for next year's Macbook Pro with retina display?

I'm not sure if the price would go down. When the macbook air came out, it cost $1799. The 13 inch air has now dropped to $1199. Do u think the price of the mbp will drop significantly as early as the 2nd gen and maybe have a much better battery life, very importantly, bigger ssd for the base version and also would intel haswell be worth the wait ?

I usually say this when it comes to buying tech:

If you can afford to wait, do so. Things get cheaper and more powerful as time goes on, and if you don't really need it now, you can get something better later

It goes without saying that if you wait for a second generation then you are almost guaranteed that the price will be a bit lower just due to the way economics work. My only worry right now would be the potential for higher failure rates with the new case design, but Apple has a pretty good track record when it comes to safe design and this is effectively a thinner MBP without an optical drive. There really isn't any sort of ground breaking new technology in this device aside from the display and high-resolution displays aren't exactly brand new either.

Right now though I definitely don't think it would be a bad idea to wait and watch for a month or two to see if there are any fatal flaws, which works out pretty well considering they are on back-order for about that long anyhow. =p
