I'm really glad Ryan was there covering this, since the stream wouldn't work for me at all for some reason. (And apparently, it cut out a bit just as they demo'd streaming anyway, funnily enough)
Disappointed with the lack of tactile buttons on the new Nano, but it looks sexy as hell. I've always been a tactile feedback kinda guy. Does anyone know if the adapters for the (now-deceased) buttonless Shuffle would work on the new Nano?
New Apple TV looks slick, but it's a big letdown that Hulu+ isn't going to happen on there. Or Amazon streaming, or Vudu, or CBS, or... well, you get the idea. iOS apps on there could've been incredibly compelling. Is there any chance you can stream Hulu+ from an iPhone to the new Apple TV using AirPlay?

Hulu Plus, the killer app of the AppleTV
Renting TV shows for $.99 isn't worth it to me. Often, what I watch is simply disposable TV like Hell's Kitchen. I watch it because I have 0 marginal costs per show, just something to have on if I want to relax for a minute. I think many of the contests/reality shows are like that. Likewise for most Sit-Coms as well.
But if Hulu Plus is on board with AppleTV, where I can get most of the network shows I want to watch for a flat fee of $10 per month, and say I pay $1 per show for premium stuff like Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, etc... It would make a revamped AppleTV much more exciting.
The downside of Hulu Plus is the commercials, but the upside to Hulu Plus over AppleTV streaming is that you can rewatch an episode after an iTMS rental window of 24 hours expires. The way I see it, Hulu Plus sounds more economical to anyone that follows 3 or more TV series a season.

If there were a greater selection of content providers, I could see this really being worth it and almost compelling enough to ditch my cable provider.
Let's say I'm interested in a few weekly shows (come on HBO, put your stuff online!).
That's 99 cents x 5 shows a week x 4 weeks a month = $20 / month
Plus I like daily show - 99 cents x ~20 weekdays per month = / $19.80
So for less than $40 / month, I could potentially*** replace my cable connection!
*** I think this only makes economic sense only depending on how much TV you watch. A few shows? Great! But anything more than that, and your basic cable costs could be less than your monthly rental costs. Also, I'd miss watching sports live, which I love (though things like ESPN3 available on more devices and for more sports / games could mitigate that).

Because I have a ipod touch, and probably will get the new ipod touch. I really see no need of having both devices. I prefer the Sansa Clip+ for my simple small devices. Yes it looks really nice, but if it would have has a decent camera in it then I think it would have been the perfect travel device. With something so small i think that would have been a something very useful.
I honestly think the iPod Shuffle is a good return back to it's roots. The last revision was simply a case of miniaturization gone too far and innovation over function so it's good to see that Apple not only recognise that but also that people do indeed like the buttons on a screen-less device.
I don't really know what to make of the iPod Nano other than Apple must have gone back to the drawing board with that brief and taken it to it's logical conclusion given the technology available to Apple now.
It's a shame to see the silent (albeit , inevitable death of the iPod Classic), especially without a storage bump to 128GB on the iPod touch's part. I think getting one now would be wise if you need to get your insane music storage needs on. I currently have an 80GB iPod Video and I'm tempted.
AppleTV seems like a home run, perfect form factor, perfect price. Little suprised to see no storage whatsoever. Was expecting 16GB of Flash storage a la iPhone / iPod styley but oh well.
People moaning about lack of apps. I wouldn't worry just yet, it's rare Apple blow their load on 1 product revision. I imagine the next iteration of this will feature the apps people crave. Also I suspect that perhaps the studios weren't keen on the idea of having Hulu or the ABC app playable on a device that's intended for the TV and that might have been a clause with their rental deal.
