Did you pre-order the iPhone 5 (or any of the other new products)? Share your stories here!
Personally, I could not get the store to load on my PC, but managed to get it up and running fine on my MacBook. The only issue I had was that it forced me to ship the iPhone to the address I have on file with AT&T, which happens to not be where I live. (Side note: I did not have the option to pick it up in store, which struck me as odd). Edit: As I checked my order before I went to sleep, I noticed that I could edit the shipping information online. So, for anyone else with the same problem, this is probably a better solution than a potentially hellish call to Apple Support.
At any rate, I got it quickly enough to secure release day delivery. Not surprisingly, I'm posting this three hours after pre-orders started, and shipping dates have already slipped to two weeks. (For a bit of comparison, it took 22 hours for iPhone 4S shipping dates to slip).
Any tales woe or joy trying to pre-order your new Apple swag? Post them here!

Honestly, I was looking at the Lumia 920, but I got suckered in. The iPhone 5 Black/Slate looked GORGEOUS! Ordered the 64GB version for AT&T. :D
And that's what I felt about the 4 to the 4s. Apple knows what it's doing!
I had my wallet out during the announcement but now that the dust is settled I pretty disappointed. I have a 4S and although the 5 is very nice, as Apples phones always are, to me the 5 looks more like a 4S+. So for now I'll keep my wallet and my 4s. Frankly I think IOS is getting a little long in the tooth. I've been eye balling the Lumia 920. If it ever actually gets a release date and price, I might go take a look.
Pre-ordered the iPhone 5 through Verizon's website, don't think there's as many people ordering though their phone upgrade system so I didn't have any issues. Delivery date says Sept 21'st - just 1 week is pretty impressive.
Coming from an Android phone, my main complaints were screen size and no LTE, they added both, and now a days it seems like almost all my favorite apps are on both platforms, so I figured it was time to give iOS a try.

My contract expires in late October. I called at&t to see if I could still upgrade seeing how I was so close. I was willing to bargain by getting onto a more expensive data plan or something. But the at&t rep said she can only do that if it was less than 30 days away.
However, it turned out my wife's phone was eligible. I took my wife's discount :P. I'm not ashamed lol.

Been month-to-month since May I think so no contract issues here. Decided that the old unlimited data plan is worth the other AT&T abuse. Used the Apple Store app on my good old iPhone 4, set the alarm for 11:59 PDT, and . . . had an experience like NHW . . . with one exception - never did get a chance to buy AppleCare for the phone. Not sure how that is going to work, and no word from Apple yet about that.
I ordered my white 32GB AT&T at 11:59 pm via the Apple store iOS app. By one minute past midnight I had a confirmation email.
Seeing the new iPhone 5 photos, I thought it looked very 4s'ish. But watching the clips from the demo room after the event and following Ryan's observations It apparently has a whole different feel given the lighter weight, bigger screen, etc.
I hope this pone seems less fragile given less glass. I really don't want to use a case.
