desktop vs loptop productivity

Just got home from the uptown mn apple store. I went in to look at the 13" MacBook pro I made my way over to the decktops. I should say that I have been thinking about a desk for a bit. I was looking at the $1500 with the 21" display nice!
Now as school nears I'm thinking will I be more productive with a desktop? I have a Asus 1201 e with a ssd and I'm typing this in bed on my thive. But I want all the nice things apple has. What are your thoughts how do you work best at home or at work is it best to be in one place or able to move about. Is the desktop dead I don't like the idea of getting the 13" low power but the 15" is big and much more expensive I wold spent the same I guess for the desktop but the big display and all the power seams like a better deal.
Do we all feel this way with tech wanting new things trying to find the best for our money and not have waist?
Our Mr jobs you got me thins time I'm stuck

The main difference between a laptop and a desktop is portability. If you want a laptop equivalent to a desktop, most likely it is going to cost more money. that money however goes towards the portability of the laptop. so the question is, how much are you willing to pay and where will you use it?
