Could someone tell me more about the Bridge functionality with a Blackberry?

And how (if at all) the Playbook interfaces with a BES (which I've just resurrected)? Or does any 'bridged' content just time out straight away? And if that's the case, does it have implications for app development regarding personal productivity? Just curious - I've been interested in this for a while and have partially cranked back up the server side of Blackberry support so that I can get going with a handset + Playbook combo, but it's not been a 'must get' level of interest.

I believe that as soon as the Bluetooth connection between your BlackBerry and your PlayBook is severed that all of the data that was being accessed from your BlackBerry, like email, contacts, calendar all "disappear" from your Playbook. I think it's for security purposes, so that if you lose your PlayBook none of that data is accessible.

Yeah. That's what I was lead to believe. The more potentially gotcha-ridden part to me, and what I was interested in people thought, was how apps would deal with the information.

thats pretty much what happens. you link it to your blackberry and a second menu that contains all your PIM information comes up including the bridge browser. i have my playbook and i love it. sold my iPad 2 within days of buying it...
