Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe ThinkPads have had this water drainage holes for a while now. Surprised that other companies don't do the same given all the spilled drink horror stories I've heard.

Yea. ThinkPad has had this excellent system for a while. I don't understand why other companies haven't adopted it yet, but then again that is why ThinkPads are the best engineered PCs.
