Cannot adjust screen brightness
I tried to google a way to this problem, but no success. The problem is I cannot adjust my screen brightness at all, the screen brightness is at its full no matter what. I've tried everything, Fn + up/down arrow doesn't work, going into the Vista power settings doesn't work...Nothing. I desperately need a fix to this problem because due to this I'm out of battery in under an hour.
P.S.: This problem occurred after installing a fresh copy of Windows Vista, I downloaded all the drivers and software's from dell support page.

I've done a quick search and found that someone else seems to have the same problem with a m1300 fitted with LED backlight - forum.pcstats.com/showthread.php?t=68195
I am using a m1330 at work (typing on it now) which does not have the LED backlight option and it works fine for brightness adjustment - both Fn keys and Power settings. And I've installed Vista on it from scratch recently too. So maybe it has something to do with the LED backlight option?
From this point, I'm lost, sorry..... I hope you find the answer!

Hmmm..... Someone else having the same problem running Fedora (Linux) on a m1330 - forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=224438
Seems like something to do with an O/S driver that doesn't link in with the m1330's hardware properly? Maybe a BIOS setting or version issue?
