Canceling a zune pass subscription is an ungodly nightmare.

(This is about the zune pass service, which is not listed in gdgt's database.)

A few days ago my brother signed up for a free 2-week trial for the zune pass service. My mom called me in the room asking me to help her cancel it before they billed her. xbox.com instructs you to go to billing.microsoft.com, sign in, click on the service, and click "CANCEL MY SERVICE." we go to said website, and the link says "HOW TO cancel my service." We click the link, and it directs us to the zune site.
Why did the xbox website direct us to microsoft's main billing page? Why isn't it as simple as one click to cancel the service? I'll tell you why. Microsoft is hoping that people who sign up for the free trial and then try to cancel decide to F*ck it and pay for the service because canceling it is a complete pain in the ass, especially to someone who is technologically illiterate and her visually impaired tech-savvy son.
I think now would be an interesting time to note that on billing.microsoft.com, you can't simply sign out, you have to sign out, clear your cookies, close the window, and log back in. I understand it's an extra security precaution, but it's PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to sign out without clearing your cookies first. Why is it that every time i log into xbox.com, i have to log in again, but on microsoft's billing site it's impossible to log out?!
One more thing. Before we could get started my mom had to reset her password. After she sent the link it says "we have sent the password reset link to the addresses below (hers and mine.) if you are unable to reset your password, you can try again in 24 hours." I understand the 24-hour limit thing, but why send it to multiple addresses? It didn't even give a choice, such as "which email do you want us to send this to?" Suppose someone has obtained access to the other email address(es). They would then be able to pry their way into your microsoft billing account, and then what?!

Well, i just really needed to blow off some steam and get the word out there. Maybe the zune pass subscription isn't all bad, but it sure isn't easy to get out of. And i know that there are other services that make it difficult to drop their subscriptions, but this is a Music Service. Like pandora or spotify. It shouldn't be this difficult to just drop the subscription.
Thank you very much for reading this and i hope i've saved you a headache or two.

Microsoft makes it a huge pain to cancel Xbox LIVE too. For a while you could cancel online, but now you have to call. Ridiculous. This sort of thing should be illegal.
