Can we all thank Apple for (partly) ruining the Hulu Plus business model?

It always bugged me that Hulu only allows TV playback if you've subscribed to Hulu Plus. That sort of defeats the whole watch-it-when-and-where-you-want idea. But thanks to AirPlay Mirroring in Mountain Lion, I can just watch something on regular Hulu (Hulu Zero?) and mirror it to my Apple TV. Thanks Apple!

Sidenote: You know that feeling when you say a word enough times and it starts to look like a nonsense word? Well I actually just had to Google "hulu" to make sure I was actually spelling it right because it looked so ridiculous after typing it so many times. Even when I got to their site I was suspicious that maybe they changed their name and logo recently because it looked so weird.

Will the sound come through the TV speakers if you mirror?

I would assume so. That's how it works on the iPhone and iPad.

Does it play on HD through the Apple TV? I thought the whole point of Hulu+ was for HD playback and more shows being available...

The whole having to pay and still having commercials makes me tentative towards subscribing to Hulu+

Are you SURE this will work? I know on the iPad Apple makes AirPlay and even AirPlay Mirroring something an app or website can disable. I DON'T know about the AirPlay mirroring on the desktop (laptop really) in OSX Mountain Lion. Does anybody know if this is something Hulu currently disables? Can disable in the future?
