Bought 3 of these (8GB) when Microsoft added USB drive support to the Xbox 360.
They work great, except for the fact that they sometimes want to retract when I am trying to plug them into the 360. Keeping your thumb on the "switch" as you insert it seems to stop that from happening, though.
Keeping your thumb on the switch is the best way to keep it from retracting.
I have one that I use on my XBOX 360 as well, for transferring shows and photos to watch on the TV.

Hmm. Never had this problem though throughout my 2 years of usage. (4 years ago?) Is the switch broken?
Mine had a very audible 'click' when it was pushed forward and slotted into place and held its place there.
