Better search results

For example, when I type "microsoft" into the search bar, a lot of products are not included in the results and I am forced to click what I assume to be the Microsoft category in order to get to those results.

The auto complete search bar is designed to give you a quick overview of popular products, companies, and categories that match your search term. If you feel the results are too generic you can be add more to your search term. Say you were looking for a Microsoft mouse, instead of searching for Microsoft, you'd be better off search for "Microsoft mouse". To find a complete listing of all Microsoft mice on the site you could navigate to the company page, gdgt.com­/microsoft/, and then select the category "mice" under peripherals.
