Audio?
I think the answer is yes, but will there be speakers? The only thing i could see being amazing with this is if i could stream my media to it, and secure this to my wall. But I dont even think that would be possible without a real OS...
I can't imagine they won't some cheap speakers or at least a heaphone jack. The only thing you could do with sound would have to be accessible through the browser so I really don't see anyone actually using this for anything more than flash video or maybe a podcast.
Thats what I thought. Its a shame that specs for this arnt out yet. Id like to know if theres a USB, or at least an SD card slot. That could lead to some pretty serious mods then.
What Id like to be able to do is get a 16gb SD card, load up Windows 7 instead and then stream music from Zune software to it from my media server in my house. Maybe get a blank canvas from an art supply store, paint that black, mount the Crunchpad in the center of it, and then get some decent quality external PC speakers and mount those behind the canvas. i think that would look pretty sick.
But, still have to wait for specs and an actual release date.

Since most of the chatter has specifically mentioned web-video apps like YouTube and Hulu, it's going to have to have some kind of audio. I *suspect* it will be like a netbook. Onboard speakers will be fine for listening to your GrandCentral voicemail, but you'll want to connect headphones or speakers for better sound.
So from what I could find there will be speakers, camera, and a microphone. Along with most likely a single usb and a single power button. I'm a little nervous about the products future just because of how it's not funded / owned by a major company but god I hope it pulls through because I would totally buy one of these.
