ASUS just announced this unit and will have a demo unit on display at CES. It uses technology from PrimeSense (the same company responsible for the technology behind the Xbox Kinect) and will supposedly provide a way to control your home theater using gestures.
For those that have played with the Kinect, how do you think this sort of technology would transfer over to actually controlling your television and set top boxes? Useful, or a gimmick?

Asus XAVI Motion: A gesture control system for home theaters and PCs?
Hah! No kidding! Like, I can be wildly gesticulating when I'm excited, especially during sports games. What if my favorite team [scores touchdown / hits home run / scores goal / buzzer beater 3 point / etc] and I jump up in excitement?

You should be able to have a trigger gesture, like the 'xxxxxx, do something' of voice recognition. Perhaps a YMCA gesture at the start of every command?
