Are these the best for their price?

Hey,

I've had an iPod of some description since their inception and always refrained from using apple earphones (for obvious reasons). Recently I was forced to use use a crappy cheap Sony set as my Sennheiser's stopped working. Since then, I've been on the look out for the best available to me with my budget. Which is £100.

Now I have looked at Shure and Sennheiser's but what I really want are decent phones with mic and remote. Much like these, but are they worth that pretty penny I intend on laying out?

Any and all ideas are welcome!

I've got a pair of these (the iPod in-ears) that I got shortly after they became available. I do think they're good for the price, and give a good balanced sound, but I was really hoping for slightly more powerful low end.

I think when I'm ready to replace these, I'd spend a little more money to get sound that suits me better. Just my 2 cents.

I liked mine a lot, but I like them a lot more since I purchased some replacement Comply foam tips.

That said, I bought these after my Bose In Ear buds crapped out (broken wire at the joint of the left bud), and these Apple In Ear buds are not as good as the Bose, in my opinion. Bose now sells the In Ear buds with an inline mic and remote.

Yeah, I bought these shortly after they were released as well. The sound quality is decent, and I think they're much better constructed than the crappy $30 Apple in-ear headphones that come with most iPods / iPhones. One thing I really enjoy about them is how the cable is a bit thicker than most other cables, so they don't get tangled as easily.

Check out the Etymotic HF2, Klipsch Image S4i, NuForce NE-7M.

The Apple earphones have the remote, but the others should sound better (they do have a mic and answer/hang up button).

If you're set on the ADDIEMs, though, you should look on eBay. You can get genuine pairs for far below the RRP.

By the way, avoid Sennheiser earphones. Bloated bass.

Mixed results with mine. I have had to return them twice because of issues with the remote dongle. But for the price, sound quality is excellent.

I'm very happy with mine. The low end bass could be better, but the mid-range and high end are really nicely balanced. I think that they sound a lot better than the Shure SE115s. Unless you can afford the next model up, I'd say go with the Apple headphones. The fitment can be a little tricky at times. The microphone/clicker is the lightest out of all the headphones I've tried, a definite plus; it doesn't way down the headphone.

If I had £279 to spare I'd just go out and buy the Monster Beats.... :)

They're way overpriced, sorry to break it to you.
