Apparently, the ZiiO 7 is on sale now!

Only $250 -- it seems cheap enough that I'm slightly interested in picking one up so I can have an Android tablet to play with. Seems like it could be a bit more useful to play with than one of the cheap, underpowered knockoffs you can find (like the Maylong M-150 and the EKEN M001). Granted, those are less than half the price of this -- so here's hoping the extra cash you'd lay down gives some extra performance!

The specs sound about average according to Engadget: "8GB of storage ($20 more doubles it to 16GB), an 800x400 resolution display, Android 2.1, a ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD processor, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a front-facing VGA camera."

So, is anyone else interested in this or am I just crazy?

I would be all over one of these just for media duties - if there was something effective on Android which did metadata syncing. Doubletwist doesn't appeal to me - it still has a long way to go IMO.

oooh damn.. and the exchange rate to USDs is so good right now. Must be strong. Must not order.

Mmm.. it all seems so good, but the lack of the Android Market makes me wary. I wanted to dip my toe in the android waters and this felt like a good starter.

But I'm worried that this would leave me stranded away from all the apps that make android cool. Is this the sort of thing that can be hacked around, or is it just 'as is where is'
