Anyone have any ideas on how to edit the video and keep the HD quality? I am using Sony Vegas 10 but when I go to render the video, my computer crashes.
My computer is fairly new with 6 gb RAM and a decent video card. What software are you using? Thanks
Hah, we can reverse the question: what software are you using?
A lot of it depends on output settings and how you export your final file. I'm not entirely versed on the Windows side of things, but I know things like Adobe Premiere have a number of export settings ranging from "web" (crappy output at something like 320 x 240 or 640 x 480) to full on HD (great, takes forever to render, massive file sizes).
But depending on what you want to do, and the quality you're looking for, this is what you need to be exporting at! Anyway, hopefully other gdgt users will have a better answer for you!

Thanks for the info. I'm currently using Sony Vegas 10. Vegas 9 seemed to work just fine for me. I guess I'll just keep playing around with the settings.
Use the stock software on the camera. Media Impression I believe is what it's called. It's a pain to edit the videos this way if the videos are less than 30seconds, but it's what I was using before eventually using my wife's MBA to edit the videos.
PS I have very little experience editing videos in general so my main goal was make the videos watchable and able to post to facebook.
