Any NEW Harmony remotes releasing anytime soon?!

I've always wanted one of these "smart" universal remotes, and have had my eye on the Harmony One. But never gave it serious thought due to the lack of compatibility with the PS3. (if I can't replace ALL of my remotes, what's the point -- 4 remotes down to 2, is an improvement, but not worth the price of admission)

With the release of the Harmony PS3 Adapter solving my final issue, I'm extremely tempted to finally take the plunge...

But before I do, I wanted to know if anyone has heard, or expects to hear something, about the next versions of the Harmony remotes... Anything??

The one thing I would hold out for, would be Bluetooth already built right in the remote. (no afterthought adapters needed)

I think that if it works for you, you should go for it. There is something to be said for wanting the best new remote but since this one solves your problems and it's definitely nice, it would not be terrible if you bought it and something came out right after. Just my two cents.

I haven't heard of anything new coming along but others may have so obviously wait and see if anyone who knows more about Logitech to chime in.

I'd be interested in seeing if they release a new remote family soon, too. But that didnt stop me from buying my One.. I got it when there were rumors that they were going to release a PS3 version, much like the Xbox360 harmony, but that never came to fruition... At the time, i didnt care because i didnt have a PS3 anyway, but the prospect of having Bluetooth in the remote made it VERY tempting to hold off. I know that these remotes are expensive, but Logitech is slow moving on these, i doubt we'll see a refresh to the line until end of year at the earliest, next year most likely, if at all... they have a great product, but I'm hoping their focusing on fixing the PC-side software rather than a hardware refresh (other than BT and maybe a design tweak, i dont really see how they can improve the hardware)

You can always buy one for your main center and then, when the upgrade comes out, use the old one in your bedroom or second a/v center...

I got the 720 for my main center, but now I want another for my bedroom for the ps3/projector and xbox 360/lcd tv with surround sound setup I got going. That one click to setup the whole system thing is addictive........

There is a Logitech adapter that is now available that lets you control all your PS3 controls with any Harmony Remote, including power on and off.

I currently own the Harmony 760, but I will be switching to the Harmony One soon. The other Harmony remotes have quite a bit of lag time, which the Harmony One doesn't.

Yeah, I am well aware of the Harmony PS3 Adapter (mentioned it briefly in my initial post). I was merely curious to whether the inevitable successor to the Harmony One was going to hit the market any time soon. Especially with it being highly likely a successor would include Bluetooth support, built right in.

As 'coologuy1957' brought up, I think I will go ahead and pick up a Harmony One (w/ PS3 Adapter) now; and when they do eventually release something new and interesting, I can always move the old one to another room/setup.

On a side note, it appears the price of the Harmony One (on Amazon) has jumped since I started this thread! 2 weeks ago, it was going for $186, and now the buggers have it listed for $199!! Punishing me for holding out!

I bought the PS3 adapter at the same time I bought my PS3. It works relatively well, though setup is non-obvious (setup the device as a "Game System" and name it "Playstation 3", the Harmony software will recognize by the name that it's a PS3). Power Off is a little weird, as it is a macro that goes through the console's shutdown menu. You have to keep the remote pointed in the vicinity of the IR receiver until the PS3 shuts off, or it'll miss a step in the macro and just shut off a controller or something.

The only real issue I've had is that sometimes if I start the PS3 using the remote I can't sync a controller with the console. I've gotten into the habit of starting the console with the controller if I'm going to play a game or with the remote if I'm going to watch a video, but never the other way around. Maybe I'm paranoid and I just had a weird sync issue, but it works.

I'm looking forward to the Harmony 900. Basically an Harmony One with RF added in for good measure. No more issues with aiming.

Do your devices have to be RF or do you use an adapter for this? I'm glad all my stuff is RF right now.... These Harmony remotes have changed my life and my roommates can't imagine life without it. We have a pretty complicated setup, but now they hit one button and its all done.... Logitech is scanning my brain for the next big idea as we speak......

They are going to sell the 900 in a kit with 2 IR repeaters, so you can stick all the IR gear in a rack and use the 900 to control it. Not going to be cheap (450) but will make a sweet set up. Unfortunately, this is a one way communication, so if crap gets out of snyc it isn't going to be easy to fix.

Glad they finally released the 900. It's about time a high end remote was released that didn't take on the tablet form. Makes it so much more intuitive for switching channels etc. The 900 is a bit pricey though, especially if you have to start tacking up multiple IR repeaters to get your system setup.
