Android maybe?

So who else on here would like to see Android on this. It is rumored to possibly be running Android, which would be awesome.

This does run Android. The photo you see in the product image is Android.
It only runs Android out of the box.

Of course I want one!! Its also said to be rocking a custom UI which should be nice coming from the company that started out with poor UI's but have since updated their game.

Yeah i am with you i just hope they don't screw up the UI to much.

It might be a media centre shell. Sort of like an overlay. Their current UI's look nice so fingers crossed.

Yeah i did like the new shots of the UI, but as with the Hero i am all about vanilla so if they make so you can switch at least, i will be happy or make due.

Cyanogens rom and market pmp software sounds like a match made in heaven

No kidding, he is already media oriented in some aspects but add that to creative or any other PMP and it would be bliss. Not to mention if the speed of his Roms were increased by a faster processor, it would be almost to fast to use.

ohh juicy, like a snapdragon/tegra device, iRiver will also add to the mix

No actually the Creative device is supposed to have the fastest smallest processor with the ability to use the whole processor for whatever is needed. So the Zii chip might actually be faster then the Tegra/Snapdragons, and cheaper.

ah yes I see, coz its modulated. cheaper will be good paired with a free OS

I agree you combine those you could get PMPs and Phones for practically nothing that are fast. All you will really need to pay for is the memory.

which is pretty cheap these days for a small stick. I bet that by the time the decades out I will have about 4 devices that I can run android on and make a phone call/have internet conn.

They have the live CD of android you can boot from any computer, so its not far off to think that I maight be able to install the OS and run it off wifi. Would be interesting.

The Live CD is a little tetchy atm I think, as its still in beta (or alpha i dont know for sure). I will be keeping my eye on this project though. In the mean time Google are working on Google Chrome OS, I think it will be a slight battle to the release date between these two OS's, although I think the open-source project will have more enhancements plus have the added benifit of a mobile stack!

I really want another mp3 jukebox and would like to wait out for something like the iRiver K2 with at least 16Gb. I would like my gdgt collection to be mostly Android. :-)

I think the two OS are targeting different models. With Android you get a desktop based OS with apps and what not, with Chrome OS you are a browser based OS with wep apps and whatever Google can through into the browser. Honestly the second the Chrome OS beta comes out i am going to be installing it on one of my Laptops.

Is Chrome OS just Googles version of gOS (basically a Cloud OS centering on googles online apps)? if that is the case then I would prefer Android.

Does anybody know if it comes with the Android Market installed on it by default? I heard I rumor that it doesn't.

It does not come with the Android Market installed but it does come with there own app store. You should still be able to side load apps though.
