if you EVER disconnect it without ejecting you'll have to format and put everything back. occasional freezing if you do alot of tweeking. default interface is sub par but the themes and interfaces develloped are AMAZING took me 2 days to get mine completely customized, not a stock menu on it! couldnt be happier once everything was set up... you know.. unless it worked right on my computer... :\
but seriously... the sound is beautiful.

amazing device, best sound out there. mac support is shaky at best.
I think Cowon players sound great, but somewhat EQ'd. As my ears became more and more discerning I realized they just didn't come off as very natural and accurate to me. I did love the sound of my X5L but I moved onto players that sounded more "right", even though they weren't quite as engaging. The S9 sounds a lot like the X5L, but it's a little brighter.
To this day Cowon probably remains the best choice for those that like to equalize their music and add sound effects. BBE and Mach3Bass were pretty well done all-around. Sony's ClearBass traded punches with Mach3Bass but I don't think Sony had an EQ that could compete with BBE.
And Cowon definitely needs to work on their interfaces. The X5 was pretty horrid, and the D2 was pretty unintuitive as well. The S9 is certainly an improvement.
