Although limited to DVD resolution (max.
720x480), this is a surprisingly capable device, and with add-on codec packs (unfortunately more $), displays almost everything I've ever downloaded or encoded myself. Strong network support including built-in 802.11g wireless as well as Ethernet, and the ability to copy files to/from its hard drive from/to the network, directly from the on-screen interface is a real plus. Also acts as a media extender, able to playback videos and audio files from network shares. Available reconditioned for about $80 for the 80GB version (at least as of July 2010), it's a fun addition to your small home theatre setup.
