A couple of questions for Zune HD owners.

Do you use the WiFi sync often? How well does it work?
Do you subscribe to Zune Pass? Do you like it?
How's the browser?

I use WiFi sync all the time.

It's great but my only concern is that it is obviously slower than using a USB cable. This isn't a problem so much when you just plug the device into a dock and let it do it's thing (which it can do automatically) but more so if you're at your computer, then really just use the USB cable as you'll be able to get up and go faster.

For my laptop I use Connectify with Windows 7 to turn my laptop into a wireless access point. Connectify is great even if you're not using it for a Zune HD, but they recently changed their newest version to not using the built in Windows 7 feature, and instead tried to use their own built service, which many people were unhappy about, but it still works with my Zune HD anyway so I don't care much. You can check it out here: www.connectify.me/

I actually use connectify on all my machines (even my desktops have wireless built in) so I have cover anywhere I go in my home, which is pretty neat. I will say that I've had the best luck getting WiFi to sync on the same laptop that has my Zune software running or off an actual router that same laptop is on, and that for some reason trying to using another machine with connectify doesn't let me wifi sync but will let me use it to have Zune Pass songs and browse the web on my Zune HD.

All in all good stuff.

Let's see.

I use WiFi sync on occasion if I'm on the go, but plan to use it more since I just got a Zune-dockable alarm, but I need to get a different router because the one I have seems to have issues with the wireless networking [not an issue w/ the Zune, an issue w/ the router]

As for Zune Pass, I have subscribed to it since I originally bought my ZuneHD when it launched [32GB Silver], and I have loved it a lot. I'm not one to take the dive of buying an album on a whim, or purely take suggestions of others without trying it out myself, so it's great that I can open up the desktop software, search for the band, listen to their songs in whole, download to my device, and do it all without thinking "do I really want to buy this?" I can honestly speak for gaining around 10 to 20 artists since I bought to device, and have had my fair share of duds that ended up costing me nothing

And the browser works fairly well, with pinch and zoom working well enough, but you do notice some pages don't look correct when they render [rather rare, but happens], as well as it doesn't have Flash or support for video playback in the browser.

To set it up, you have to go into the Settings, Device, Wireless Sync, and then fill in the network information. It's important to know that you have to have your SSID broadcasting from your router or it doesn't work, which is kind of aggravating.

I have my SSID hidden and can connect to it - you have to set it up as a network connection and connect to it first, before trying to set up wireless sync. Then it works fine.

Ah, fantastic! I'll have to adjust my network ... again

WiFi sync works fine as long as your computer is on. It's a great feature and I do use it regularly.
I don't have the zune pass. The browser is a bit slow but it's acceptable; it doesn't do as good a job as the iPhone/iTouch or Opera mobile, but it's workable.

I have the HD dock connected to my TV, so I just dock my Zune and use the wireless sync all the time. It does seem quite a bit slower, though, so if not docking, I'd rather plug it in.

The Zune pass is awesome. I now have complete discographies of my favorite artists. And I love being able to download everything and listen all the way through before deciding to keep it.

The browser is ok. I haven't used it since I got my smart phone six months ago, though.

I just put my Zune in a dock every afternoon and it will sync/charge during the evening. If you're transferring a lot of files across you will want to use the cable as wireless is slow, but for everyday updating of auto playlists and podcasts the wireless works perfectly.

I've heard of people leaving the Zune in their car (plugged in to a power source) and syncing wirelessly to a PC in the house. Pretty cool.

The Zune does need power to sync wirelessly automatically. If the Zune is plugged in (e.g. in a dock) for more than a minute it will automatically try to sync.
