A better gdgt presence on Facebook

At the moment, the gdgt Facebook page is just the Twitter feed. It'd be great to see actual posts on Facebook.

The main annoyance is the lack of link previews, but seeing more different types of content being shared would be good too.

But the main page of gdgt has wonderful posts with beautiful high res images!

Much more elegant than a facebook feed. Then again that is just my opinion and I don't work for gdgt

gdgt, like many other websites, doesn't know how to have a presence on Facebook without being annoying. There's not really any websites I know of that have solid integration with Facebook (without being annoying and taking over your wall) besides maybe Zynga being able to see your friends who play games and challenge them to a game without everything showing on Facebook. I honestly wish Sony would get off their asses and show me the PSN tags of all my Facebook friends for playing CoD online, but I digress.

When I first linked my account to gdgt, every device I added to my want list showed up on my wall. I'm sure someone new to gdgt could try to link to Facebook and then accidentally have every single comment they wrote on gdgt to show up on their timeline. This is lame and not useful.

Facebook has an app section and a group section. How about being able to be part of the gdgt group and have the discussions that you are following show up there instead of having to get off Facebook and open gdgt? I have a racquetball group with my friends and we post when we are going to the courts to try to align our schedules. I think posting in a private group section makes more sense then having to comment on an open, public twitter feed for sure.

I'm not actually meaning a better Facebook app integration, I'm just meaning a real person writing relevant stuff on the gdgt Facebook page. But, yeah!

We could definitely be doing a better job here, and I will say that it's on our radar. Part of the problem is that we had a dedicated person who handled this stuff, but after they left their job was split up amongst several other people and this part sort of fell through the cracks.
