Can any of the Andriod (at ver 2.x) record phone conversations (without that idiotic 'turn on speaker phone and hope for the best work around)?

Has anyone read/heard any review reference this shortcoming?

No, I don't think that's a stock feature. I'm sure you can do it via 3rd party apps though.

That said, remember that in many jurisdictions, clandestine recording of cellphone calls or conversations may run afoul of the law, so be careful.

Google Voice can record calls, but the legal reason is probably why it is not stock
