Samsung Series 7 Chronos (2013) (770Z5E)

by feligato

Series 7 Chronos versions and differences
details
AFAIK there are 4 versions of this laptop

NP770Z5E - matte, silver (the one that I have)
NP780Z5E - glossy, touchscreen, silver
NP870Z5E - matte, black
NP880Z5E - glossy, touchscreen, black

The one that is talked here is the 770Z5E but gdgt specs are wrong cause that model doesn't have a touchscreen onboard.

You can also found it as the Ativ Book 8

Resolution war continues. HP coming out with a 3200 x 1800 ultrabook
details
I saw the post this morning on Gizmodo and Engadget about the HP envy touchsmart 14 coming out this summer. Sources are saying that there will be a version with a 3200 by 1800 display.

This is over 4 times the pixels of one of my current laptops (at 1440 by 900) and it is crammed into a 14 inch screen, a touchscreen no less.
I find this very impressive and may have to take a look at one. Again I am sure there will be the... Read more →

new GDGT categories- flashes and tripods?
details
Hey guys! I posted this question to the mods, and they got back to me saying that its not in consideration now, but might be later in the future.

I feel like my flashes and tripods are an integral part of my photography kit and would be a great addition to the GDGT database. What do you guys think?

Pasting the password not working on mobile gdgt login page
details
I tried logging in today on the gdgt site using my iPhone. The mobile version of the page loaded, and when I tried to paste my password (which I had previously copied from the 1Password app), that didn't work. The password field just blinks shortly, but the "Paste" option won't appear. I also tried logging in directly from within 1Password, but to no avail. Switching to the desktop site, both of the above ways worked just fine.

Xbox One Kinect
details
So if it's going to require a wired connection between the Kinect and Xbox One, it creates a real problem for those with home theaters. If your media rack is behind you or anywhere other than in front, having a wired connection between the Kinect and the Xbox One could be real trouble. Perhaps you will be able to purchase longer cables to run in walls...

Xbox One layout (OS design)
details
I do wonder if the current layout of the Xbox One hints of what could be part of the next Windows 8.1 layout. Xbox 360 has changed their layout to the tiled design that matches with their current OS eco system. I also would like to know, with the whole TV being able to go HDMI in, would the whole TV integration be reflected in the Windows Media Center of Windows 8?

Not the only One!
details
Despite the singularity implied by calling your product the "One", there have actually been a bunch of gadgets with that name over the years. Thought I'd put together a list of the ones I could think of off the top of my head, please point any I've missed in the comments!

The new Xbox is coming!
details
Today is the day that Microsoft unveils the new Xbox—it's been eight years since the Xbox 360 was unveiled to the public, a year before Nintendo and Sony unleashed their own seventh generation consoles. This time around Microsoft is actually last to the party, with Nintendo already having released the Wii U and Sony having done their own unveiling (well, not really) of the PlayStation 4. Last time the year-long head start may have really helped the Xbox gain dominance over its rivals, so what... Read more →
