Detailed review
For a general use home laptop I feel it does what I need it to do. I've only had one problem with it and that was with an anti-virus program bundled by Dell that conflicted with Vista (not the laptop's fault). It plays movies well via the HDMI output to my Samsung HD TV and it plays games ok (i'm not a heavy gamer). I develop lightly with it using VS 2005 and it does the job I need it to do. I haven't had any hardware issues with my machine. Overall I think it's a good a good laptop for the price and performance.
