  • Speed and features i7 processor rocks the casbah. 8gb of memory helps a lot. No issues in performance, in video playback, image editing, or video editing. great!
  • Design and form factor Decent design. It's no Mac but it's good enough for me. good
  • Battery life 9 cell battery seems like it's never going to run out of juice. good
  • Display RGBLED display is gorgeous. Although having serious problems calibrating it for developing photos. great!
  • Durability Very sturdy build. No complaints at all good
  • Expandability Only two USB ports and difficulty with original USB 3.0 driver not working with USB 1.1 devices. Works now! :-) so-so
  • Noise Is this thing on? It does make a bit of noise when the processor gets hot. great!
  • Portability (size / weight) She's pretty big but nothing I don't mind carrying around just about everywhere I go. good
Detailed review
This is my 2nd XPS. My first one finally kicked the bucket after 5 years. These things aren't supposed to last 3 years. But before it did die, the thing was probably still faster than what you have. I loved that machine and was emotional when it died. But this is my baby now. I've had it for 4 months and it has no issues.

Side note, the JBL speakers in this thing sound better than my iMac. People are shocked when they hear playback from it and realize it's coming from a laptop.
