Interested in high resolution, 27" or smaller monitors
I'm looking at upping the resolution on my monitor at home. I currently have a Dell 23" 1900x1080 monitor for my desktop. I'd love to get something with a bit more resolution, and the U2711 seems to be the right fit. Are there others I should look at?

Sluggish performance when MacBook Pro connected to Dell U2711
Hardware - I have an early 2008 macbook pro (2.4 core 2 duo, 4gb RAM, Kingston V+100 96GB SSD) and I connect that to a Dell U2711. I am running OS X Lion. Problem - When I use the laptop without connecting it to the monitor, everything works smooth and it is snappy. But when I use it with the monitor, the performance is sluggish. I love my u2711 after about a month.
However, now that I have it hooked up to my receiver and that is funneling all my HDMI devices into it and my Polk speakers, I feel like I'm really missing the ability to turn it off with a remote, since it is quite power hungry, even in power save. I was wondering if it would be bad to hook up my monitor to a remote control outlet like the things Tanga just happens to be selling for the next 23 hours? http://www.tanga.com/products/3-pack-of-electrical...
