Conclusion: We're mixed
The Optiplex 990 series includes a small form-factor model that is useful if space is limited, but also offers limited expansion and upgrade options. The full-size 990 is a standard tower, and provides a good amount of flexibility, both in terms of base configurations and available upgrades. Both variants are solid performers, with good graphics and speedy processors. However, even the larger 990 is missing some key features, including USB 3.0 ports. For small and mid-sized businesses, there are better options at roughly similar prices, both from Dell, and from other manufacturers as well.
