- Speed and features No comments
- Design and form factor Very plasticky feel, but machine is solid and feels durable. Strong Chasis.
- Battery life Less than stellar. It lasts a decent amount of time but should be better in 2010. Average about 180 min on a charge.
- Display Gets plus points for not being reflective type but colors seems dull and whites are more a bit too 'yellow' for my liking. Photos appears dull.
- Durability No comments
- Expandability SD card slot handy. SATA connection. FireWire is a plus (although I don't like it being of the 'small' connector type. Removable battery.
- Noise Fans can be loud when they spin up.
- Portability (size / weight) No comments
Detailed review
Fast machine for now (core i5) - much more 'snappy' than my 2009 core 2 MBP. Screen is disappointment - clearly inferior to my MacBook Pro (maybe unfair comparison but really drastically less clear and sharp. At least it is non-reflective which has to count in its favour). Battery life less than expected but still decent. Surprising graphics card performance (not very good in absolute terms, but better than expected considering the drivers and low end specs). Feels quite durable. Didn't like the rubber nubbin in keyboard but gotten used to it and now use extensively for scrolling webpages. Machine runs Windows 7 enterprise and is very stable, no crashes or slowdowns yet.
In conclusion, it is a good workhorse, but not terribly exciting machine. Should last a while though.
