The left side of the laptop often overheats, even when I have space for the fans to run/cool off. And I've noticed that since it's started to do this, the computer runs a bit slower. I've tried cleaning my system through Windows, I've tried cleaning out the inside via air can... any other ideas? It's more of annoyance than anything, just would prefer it to stop.

Every so often, this machine freezes/crashes when I come back from standby. Hibernate also. Anyone else having this issue? (I saw the reviewer mentioned it, but did not list a fix.) Running XP SP3, 2GB RAM. (error occurred even after clean install and latest BIOS update).

Has anyone has any issues with the Dell E6400 when running on battery. I have seen an issue when switching from battery to mains where the laptop will bluescreen for no clear reason. Dell claim its a driver issue but its latest build and nothing special about the build
