I love this device. I had one seagate drive die on me already and it did exactly as advertised. Thankfully I had the overhead so I pulled the drive and it just packed the volume back down until Seagate replaced it, popped the replacement back in. Make sure when setting it up you make the full 16TB volume even if you don't have the drives, then you can upgrade capacity as you need it without having to transfer your data off, make a larger volume, and transfer it all back. I use Microsoft's SyncToy to synchronize my data on my Drobo with my NAS every night And it is so nice to see transfers of 80MB/s between my local drive and the Drobo. I highly recommend this device.
