The Boxee Box just isn't polished enough to be worth the hassle right now. The ideas are all there, and our experience with the Boxee team has us confident in their vision and ability to execute, but the Box ... feels like less of a finished product than an excellent rough draft of the future.

Boxee Box isn’t perfect, but it’s a lot more polished than Google TV and I can’t find any deal breakers or even significant downsides to delay your purchase. If you’ve never used Boxee before or are coming from a WD TV, Popcorn Hour or even an Apple TV new or old, you’ll absolutely love it...
Read the full review →Boxee is tackling an admittedly very difficult problem. Make it too easy and the content owners will crack down on you. Make it too difficult, and you end up with a platform that’s unsellable. At a high level, I believe Boxee has come very close to the perfect balance between the two extremes.
Read the full review →The Boxee Box by D-Link has some innovative design choices and a promising user interface, but mainstream content is mostly missing in action until future firmware updates are available.
Read the full review →When the bugs are ironed out and even more content is available, this will be the media streamer to beat – not least because the hardware is terrific. But it comes at a price. And that price is, very sadly, far too much – especially when you consider just how annoyed the software will make you.
Read the full review →We were content to grind our teeth and accept the occasional crash and hiccup when Boxee was merely a freebie download for the PC, but after shelling out $200 for a set-top box, Boxee engineers need to get serious and learn how make Boxee work like the appliance it’s being sold as.
Read the full review →I was a pretty avid user of the boxee software ever since it's fork from XMBC, installing it on every device I could even the first gen Apple TV, so I had high hopes for a dedicated box designed to get fast updates and little worry of lost functionality. The small cutaway box design was nothing...
Read the full review →Until the release of the boxee box, I was convinced that boxee would win the set-top box wars because it was the only true UI that you could replace cable TV with. With the release of the box we now found out that they're trying to work with cable companies more and because of that...
Read the full review →For the most part, I really, really, really like my Boxee Box. I fall just short of loving it because of so many tiny quirks. There are moments where the Box just fails a little and tarnishes the experience. But like I said, for the most part I really like it. I challenge anybody reading this...
Read the full review →I love the Boxee box. Its been a great addition to my house. THE BB connected to my TV and 1TB External HDD, plus standard cable and a PS3 is the most amazing TV set up possible.
Read the full review →Pre-ordered this product as soon as it became available on Amazon.com for it ease of use and intuitive user interface. I have been using the AppleTV hack for the past year and was hoping that the Boxee Box was going to be the exact same experience as it only Quicker! Received my Boxee Box...
Read the full review →I have had a few reliability problems with mine prior to the latest software update. It would often fail to start up after the initial Boxee logo. These seem to have been resolved, but I will wait and see. The recent loss of the dedicated BBC iPlayer app means that finding shows from the BBC...
Read the full review →This little box has SO MUCH potential. But to me, until it's got Netflix and Hulu Plus, it's much closer to a fancy paperweight than an everyday device. But it sure feels like right around the corner it will be getting that daily use...
Read the full review →Just a incredibly good and well thought out product. Mostly due to the very good boxee software.
Read the full review →Still kind of unfinished in some aspect. Not a user friendly consumer product
Read the full review →Use the box primarily for streaming local content. Streaming off the net is great for showing YouTube videos from my Facebook and Twitter streams but the web programming generally is underwhelming and sometimes cumbersome. Netflix is nice to have but selection here in Canada is poor at present.
