What will the media front-end be on the PC?
details
One of the major things that keeps bringing me back to the more mundane iPod experience from other arguably better stand-alone players (Sony really - Cowon is extremely good at doing nerdy half-ass, iRiver is always a 'not quite enough', and Creatives have always been fiddlier to use and looked like if you stuck an iPod in the oven) is the playcount / player state sync aspect. Keeping tabs on what I've played, and more importantly where I am in what I played, tracked separately for... Read more →

Zii gets more specs
details
Well this doesn't have to do with Android but it shows what the creative zii and plazma have to offer. http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/26/zii-egg-sdk-roa... Although i find engadgets thoughts on this horrible since they mock it, but the fact is all three updates will be out by the end of the year, which means a consumer model should be out by then as well.

Android device as PMP
details
So how well does Android work as the platform for a PMP. I want this Zii Egg to be my all in one device once it gets cell parts. My question is, how good (and how good-looking) are the video player and music player? Are the controls intuitive? I have only seen them a few times but didn't really pay attention to them since I wasn't thinking of the device as replacing my iPod Touch at the time...now I am.

It appears to be a developer's platform meant to showcase every feature possible with the Zii chip. It seems doubtful that real consumer platforms would implement all of these features at once. I liken this to a similar NIVIDIA device which was manufactured to showcase the Tegra chip around a year ago. It similarly had a huge screen, two cameras, speakers,... Read more →

How long before it gets the phone bits?
details
So how long do you guys think it'll be before an OEM and phone carrier team up to add the necessary radios to add cell functionality to this? It has the speaker conspicuously placed where the ear would go. It has everything people wanted in the new iPhone and more...and it runs Android. This WILL be my next phone if that happens. Do you think someone's already working on it?
