I loved this player as a do-it-all portable source. It could feed a very powerful line out (for a portable) to a car jack, stereo or a headphone amp, and the wired remote, while nowhere near as sophisticated as what Sony had on offer, nevertheless did the job perfectly well for headphone...

Used my Nomad to record concerts in WAV format via the line-in jack (using a microphone hooked up t a miniamp of course) and it always worked without a hitch.
