Detailed review
The Compaq Presario M2000 was the first laptop I owned, mine ended up being stolen from a car but by that time I had recommended a relative by the same machine. That was a mistake.
The model we both purchased came with only 222MB of recognised RAM which severely limited its abilities and lag only increased with years of use.
Being green I thought that the shell was made of aluminium but it turned out to be plastic with a metalic-vaneer. This wears off through use, especially on and around the touchpad.
The screen is one of the only positive attributes of the M2000 being a comfortable size and evenly back-lit. The screen is still performing well.
This review may have been a little more subjective and critical than the machine deserves however that can be put down to the fact I am currently stuggling to improve its performance.
