Great learners DSLR especially given that it can be picked up inexpensively second hand. I've been using it with a tripod to take starfield shots and it's great.

My only real complaints on this wonderful SLR are the small screen, lack of video (not added until the 40d I think), and a problem where if you shoot a burst of pictures and it's still buffering them onto the CF card (as shown by a flashing LED) you cannot open that CF door. If you do, you will...
