I love this lens. I've had it for 7 years now and it's my staple for shooting out in the street from afar or in larger rooms (from across the room). Great depth of field, really sharp, and lets tons of light in. A lot of bang for your buck. A few photo examples:...

Love this lens. It is unbelievable at high ISO and very good at fast action. I use it to shoot college volleyball and it always brings me some great results.

Purchased for use at our kids activities (softball, karate, volleyball). Since it's a fixed lens, I have to move about, but I'm saving up for a good zoom lens. Really awesome bokeh with this lens and with f/1.8 it works nicely indoors for volleyball and karate.
