Conclusion: We like it
The Buffalo MiniStation Extreme is a little more expensive than competing portable hard drives like the Western Digital My Passport. But it's also one of the fastest USB 3.0 portable drives out there, and, with military-grade shock protection, it's also one of the sturdiest. You may not plan on dropping your portable hard drive, but chances are you will at some point, and if it's a MiniStation Extreme, it has a much better chance of surviving the fall.

Buffalo gets all the basics right with the MiniStation Extreme. Its rugged design, good performance and attractive price make it an excellent choice for anyone who needs a reliable portable disk.
