The Braven 650 is available now for $189.99 and in my opinion it is one of the best portable speakers I have ever tried out. While I like my Nokia Play 360 speakers, this one is MUCH more portable and will be traveling with me on the road.

So if your main interest is simply being able to keep entertained wherever you are, or maybe to rock a (small) party with a pocket-sized piece of gear, the Braven is a good bet.

The Braven 650 portable speaker is more than just that -- it’s also a portable phone battery, charging your mobile if you’re not near a power point. It’s as easy to use as any Bluetooth speaker could be, and it sounds pretty good too.

Braven didn’t come along and try to make a JamBox copy. Instead, the company made a very good portable speaker, which bests its famous rival in many ways.

It may not be as loud or as bass-heavy as the Jambox, but the Braven 650 does sound very nice indeed ... Our only real concern is the slightly low volume output, and the cost of buying one, which is pretty substantial.

Braven 650 is an updated version of Zephyr 550, featuring a modestly tweaked exterior, improved sound quality, a smaller internal battery, and a higher price tag.

It has double the battery life of most competitors, audio output and the ability to charge your phone, all of which are genuinely useful additions. Add in sound quality that is easily enough for most travel purposes and you can colour us impressed.

Though a little pricey in comparison to some, the Brazen 600 offers a winning combination of a rich feature set, clean, simple design, and superior audio quality which bests nearly all of its like-sized competitors.
