- Audio quality For it's size and portability, the audio quality its superb, even with the volume turned all the way up
- Design and form factor Chromed finish and leather cover, looks like a high end device from the 70s or 80s. Really nice.
- Durability Although haven't dropped it yet (I hope I never do) the thing feels pretty durable
- Portability 8 hours of standalone playback with a full charge, small size, bluetooth compatibility and a line-in
Detailed review
I always thought that Airplay was the way to go, but missed the fact of Airplay licensing rights fees, so I don't think there will be as many Airplay-compatible devices as I originally thought. Bluetooth is the way to go. It's universal, portable and doesn't depend on a WiFi network. You can pair this speaker with most devices using A2DP including laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile phones, and even if your device has no bluetooth (like a regular iPod) you still have the line-in option to connect it via the headphone port. So far has worked great with my MacBook via bluetooth and my iPod, and that's all I needed. Got it a nice place in my bookshelf, where the AC adapter is plugged at, and I can move the speaker downstairs to get some work done while playing music in the living room, or listen to podcasts and news in the morning from my cellphone . It's as good as you would expect from Bose.
