For $600, this iPod speaker system should come with a full-featured remote control and some nice extras, but if you buy the Bose SoundDock 10, you'll have to settle for excellent audio performance alone.

The Bose SoundDock 10 is a classy-looking accessory that offers distortion-free playback. For the price, sound isn’t exceptional, but bear in mind that it can be found much cheaper online. However, we don't particularly like the lack of controls on the dock - navigation isn’t perfect.

This more affordable SoundDock 10 is now an enticing proposition. Sonically it holds its own, and the USP of Bluetooth gives the big, bold Bose a boost – and could move it on to your shortlist.

It’s hard to say that SoundDock 10 measures up to a $600 level of expectation.
