Right now, the BlackBerry PlayBook is a tablet that will come close to satisfying those users who gravitate toward the first word in its name: BlackBerry. Those who were more excited about the "play" part would be well advised to look elsewhere.

Sadly, this isn’t the tablet to break the Apple stranglehold. There’s no 3G option presently, the screen falls a little short and there just isn’t enough here in terms of high-level apps and functionality to make this a smart choice over the similarly priced iPad 2. quote

Overall, the features provided by PlayBook OS 2.0 are a welcome update for any BlackBerry PlayBook user. . . . Is the PlayBook going to take a big bite out of the tablet market? Probably not, but then, few have.
Read the full review →It’s a well-constructed device with great media-viewing capabilities, solid hardware specs and a price on par with the current tablet market. But with serious gaps in key areas like app selection and Flash stability, you may want to think twice before picking one up.
Read the full review →The PlayBook is well built, has masses of potential, but it’s not quite there yet. ... Ultimately, it’s early days for the PlayBook, if RIM can live up to their promises this is one tablet that could be the main set for businesses everywhere.
Read the full review →Unfortunately there still too many rough edges for us to comprehensively recommend the PlayBook – or, indeed, for it to entirely take on the iPad 2 as RIM might hope.
Read the full review →Our final verdict is: wait and see. If the apps trickle in and RIM continues to support the platform, the device has the makings of a solid business tablet. It might all work out in the end. For now, the PlayBook is a faint glimmer of things to come.

Read the full review →A solid device, especially given the reduced price. Core apps work well, and plenty of third-party apps being released every day. Believe it or not, I have more apps on my PlayBook than I do on my iPad, and I use my PlayBook more for day to day usage than the iPad as well. I think the bezel touch...
Read the full review →The primary drawback of the PlayBook is the app selection, it's not very expansive. It still has a number of very good apps, both free and for pay at acceptable prices, so it's still good enough. Nonetheless, if there's something you need and the PlayBook doesn't have, that's a problem (Netflix...

Read the full review →I've owned the PlayBook since day 1, and with each update it gets better. The hardware is slick. The OS is pretty smooth. The gestures are really good and make it easy to use. One of the underrated features in BlackBerry Bridge. A recent update now allows for net access through Bridge...

Read the full review →I was looking for something very specific. I have an iPad but really like the 7" form factor. I wanted something that would function as a multimedia tablet and do a few other functions. I was looking at the Nexus 7 and wound up getting a PlayBook. They were both priced at $199, but the PlayBook...
Read the full review →I was undecided but when the prices dropped I bougth it... and I never regretted! I love the 7" form factor, I keep it always with me; the operative system is very cool and it works great and... it has a lot of app and games, which is kind of weird for a BlackBerry product! It also support many...
