Can you charge a NOOK color without the real charge
I got a NOOK color for Christmas. A couple of nights ago I started charge it I came back to my and I heard a pop noise and I look at my NOOK color charge a it was not working and I was going take it back out and put it back in to see if it work. When I did the front piece of the charge was broke I tried to fix it but it did not work. And I do not have a new one is there any way to charge my NOOK color. If know anyway please respond. Thank you

How does Barnes & Noble respond to Amazon's latest tablets?
Amazon's Kindle Fire now seems to be a better buy (both hardware and price) than the Nook Color. It seems to be a pretty aggressive price point.
How will Barnes & Noble respond? They've been pretty aggressive releasing the Nook Color and Nook Simple Touch. The Nook Color is nearly a year old at this point as well -- so we're about due for a new tablet from them. One would think they knew Amazon would get into this market as well.
Does this signal the beginning of the end, or is the tablet war...

Viewsonic gTablet at $350, or Nookcolor at $250?
A local electronics shop is offering the Viewsonic tablet for $350, which is certainly a good enough price to make it worth looking at, however, I certainly have no qualms about rooting a Nook and installing Cyanogen on there. My primary use will be reading PDF files, and many of those PDF files are going to consist of scanned images as opposed to text. 3G isn't important, as I can use my phone as a hotspot. So which should it be?

For those who have rooted it and installed Honeycomb, what's the Nook Color like to use as a tablet?
Is it stable enough to use daily or is it still kind of a novelty? What's functionality like in comparison to the Xoom or the iPad?

Can you use the "search" option here on gdgt with your B&N NC?
When I try to, the keyboard pops up, and as soon as I hit a key, the keyboard goes away.

Has anyone gotten the sync to work reliably between devices? My setup currently is the original nook and iPhone app.
For some reason the page I am currently on does not seem to be sent to the server at any particular time on either device. Sometimes I can coax it into doing this by refreshing my library on each device, but if I just put the device down or close the app it does not send my current page to the server. Has anyone else experienced this? I do have the book setup for syncing on the nook itself and it works very infrequently. I am debating switching to a Kindle just for the Whispersync which seems...

It seems that a flurry of Kindle 3 reviews are coming out on various blogs
Just curious if anyone out there has had an opportunity to compare side-by-side the Kindle 3 screen to the Nook screen. Most of the reviews I have read online stated the Nook had slightly better contrast than the Kindle 2. Being that the Kindle 3 has "50%" more contrast than the Kindle 2, I am wondering how that translates compared to the Nook. A noticeable difference?

Kindle 2 or Nook 3G
I want to get an eReader. I just don't know which one to purchase. They both look nice and have their respective features. I'm going on a trip so no wi-fi, and I want internet access. The only way would would be to use the Kindle with 3G. I want to get the device with the most non-fiction books like history.

Is anyone else finding the USB cable to feel loose when plugged in to the bottom of the Nook?
(This is my first device with a micro-USB connector, so perhaps this is just how it's supposed to fit.) The cable works when plugged in, of course. It just wiggles.

Any sign of a hack to switch the hardware buttons on the outer edges of the nook?
I wish they were inverted so the 'next page' was the 'previous page'. It would just feel a little more comfortable when reading with one hand. Anyone at least agree?

I just got my Nook a couple of days ago, so I haven't really explored everything it can do just yet.
I know it runs Android, and it has games, and a browser, and some other features, all with certain limits. But I also have heard that there is a hacking scene with the Nook, with homebrew apps for it and such. Has anybody had any experience with hacking their Nook that can say to weather it's worth doing or not? Or what kind of features I can get from doing so? I'd hope that there is a lot of neat stuff people can do, given that it's based on Android and has 3g built in.

I'm just wondering... I want to get a nook, mainly to use it as a manga/comic reader on top of text-only books. I have a huge collection on my hard drive.
most are either folders of jpgs, .zip or cbz/cbr files and I know I can convert most of them into a epub file. My main concern is, will the nook stretch out or misplace text from the original speech bubbles? I've heard it's ok now but I really want to make sure.

Is last page read supposed to sync between devices?
I have been looking for a definitive answer on this issue. The Kindle 2 has Whispersync, where the device syncs to the last page read in teh book you are currently reading between devices. Does anyone know if this functionality is supposed to be coming in the nook? I have seen conflicting answers. Some people seem to point to the statement that "books will sync between devices" however all that I find that to mean is that my B&N online library is synced, but not the location I am...

which one is a better buy kindle or nook
between the nook and the kindle which will offer a better value for the money and also which will be more than reinvent the market of the e-book reader.

Android + Mini USB? Bring on the mods and hacks!
Seriously, this is yet another exciting possibility about this eBook reader. With the potential ability to hack Android, a mini USB port, and a Micro SD slot, is it possible we could see future, home-brew support for more document formats besides PDF (such at DOC, or even TXT?). In my opinion, this eBook reader is one of the most exciting yet released.
