Detailed review
By now everyone thinking about purchasing a Nook has seen the negative reviews. I agree there were some big problems out of the box, the biggest being bookmarks deleting when the device was powered off. Update 1.2 came out this week and that problem is no more. The touch screen menus have been updated and are now quicker to navigate. The look of the menu has changed as well. I liked the old buttons but am not unhappy with the new ones (you can see the new look at the Nook website).

Overall the device is great to use. You can use the hardware buttons to turn pages or swipe the touchscreen. The store is easy to navigate and you can browse new books using color images of the covers. I have yet to try any of the in store or lending features but even without those this is an enjoyable reader that I would recommend to anyone.
